They also require a separate 120-volt supply for the control box. Due to the high power, professional installation by a certified electrician is mandatory. They will ensure the correct breaker sizes and wire gauges are used as specified in the manual.
Maintenance is straightforward. The most important aspect is the sauna stones. About once a year (more often for heavy commercial use), you should remove the stones, clean any small pieces or sediment from the heater, and then restack the stones to ensure good airflow.
Replace stones every 2-5 years as they can crack and crumble over time, affecting performance. The stainless-steel casing can be wiped with a damp cloth.

Contactor boxes are heavy-duty electrical relays. Sauna heaters, especially powerful ones like the Magma, draw a lot of electrical current. The control panel (SL2-C) operates at a lower voltage for safety and precision. The contactor box acts as a bridge, allowing the low-voltage control to safely switch the high-power circuits that energize the heating elements.
The 208V models use two contactor boxes (CB-17-3 & CB-18-3), while the 480V models use one (CB-17-3) for proper power distribution.
