The Northstar saunas are designed for straightforward assembly. They arrive in pre-built panels, and with a few people, can typically be assembled in a weekend with two adults. For those who prefer a turnkey solution, our expert team offers professional installation services for one day installs.
All models of the The Northstar Indoor Sauna Series requires 240 volt power—except for the 4×4 model (electrician required for 240 volt power). The amperage depends on the model.
Consider both your available space and intended use. Solo users love the NSI-44 for daily meditation and therapy. Couples prefer the NSI-46 or NSI-56 for comfortable shared sessions. Families or those who entertain should consider the NSI-57, which seats 5 or allows lying down. Remember to account for door swing and the required 3-5″ clearance on all sides when measuring your space.

Maintenance is minimal. The most important step is to immediately treat the exterior wood with a quality paint or stain to protect it from the elements. Periodically, you can clean the interior benches with a soft brush and water. It’s a durable product designed for years of enjoyment with very little upkeep.
Indoor models are designed for indoor environments and don’t include the metal roof kit or integral flooring that the Northstar outdoor models require. Indoor saunas also offer more size options, including the compact 4’x4′ model and varying heater configurations. The construction is the same, despite the weather resistance not being needed.
NorthStar saunas without floors sit directly on your existing hard surface—tile, concrete, vinyl, or sealed wood. This works perfectly for most installations and saves money. The optional integral floor adds a waterproof vinyl surface that protects your subfloor, makes cleaning easier, and provides a more finished appearance. We typically recommend floors for carpeted rooms or where moisture protection is a priority.
