The Sisu is our luxury line of customizable indoor traditional sauna rooms. They are panel-built, free-standing rooms that are customizable to fit your vision. Â
Customize your wood type on both the interior and exterior, bench layout, heater, add a changing room, and much more.Â
When going the modular sauna route, you get the option of being able to take your sauna down and take it with you. They’re also quicker to install than a permanent indoor sauna. Â
The indoor Sisu sauna customization process is simple. All of our custom options are laid out below. Â
Our saunas are built using the highest quality materials, for form and function. From Clear Western Red Cedar, Nordic Spruce, or Clear Canadien Hemlock, your sauna space will hold up to even the most hard-core of sauna use for decades to come.Â
There are nearly endless size and layout options for a custom Sisu traditional sauna.

You can start by browsing through several “standard” CAD layouts shown here, and adjust however fits your space. Â
The sauna heater is the heartbeat of the sauna.
After you have decided on the size and layout of the sauna, we find the appropriately sized heater for it. Each heater will offer a different experience. Our residential Finnleo heaters comes with a five-year warranty and we stock all of the most common heater parts you could need. Our American tech support team supports customers across North America every week of the year Monday through Friday.Â
The Himalaya Rock Tower is a premier heater. Because of its rock mass and Biowater Technique Tank, it creates a soft heat for a better sauna experience. Â
The Designer Series is a reliable, sturdy sauna heater. It is built to withstand heavy use and heats up quickly because of its smaller rock mass.
Each wood type offers a different feel.
All our wood is mill-direct, using only the highest quality, hand-selected wood. All from verified sustainable forests. All wood choices are chosen for their ability to hold up for years (typically decades) in the harsh sauna environment.Â
All wood that touches skin (benches, backrests, duckboard flooring, heater guard, headrest) is chosen for staying cool to the touch of the skin (no knots – they get hot in the sauna heat!)
Clear Vertical Grain Western Red Cedar, Kiln dried to 12% or less. 1″x4″ (nominal) V-Joint.Â
Clear Vertical Grain Canadian Hemlock, Kiln dried to 12% or less. 1″x4″ (nominal) V-Joint.Â
Black Taika is certified birch plywood developed exclusively for high performance in the harsh sauna environment. Panels are Tongued and Grooved. Each panel is 7″ width.
European Grade A Nordic Spruce, Kiln dried to 12% or less. 1″x4″ (nominal) V-Joint. Responsibly-sourced from northern Finnish forests.Â
Customizing the interior design refers to the backrest, bullnose trim, and bench skirts.
There are four different “styles” of benching & backrest interior design. Each look is available for your sauna. Â
Standard interior can be done in all wood types.Â
Deco interior is built with Hemlock and Heat-Treated Alder wood benching. Best paired with Cedar or Hemlock T&G.
Centurion interior is built in wide board Hemlock wood. Best paired with Taika T&G.
Twilight interior is built with a Abachi & Heat-Treated Alder. Best paired with Hemlock or Cedar T&G.
All custom Sisu saunas come with a standard 2-Bar backrest.
A backrest in the sauna is comfortable, looks nice, and keeps your skin off the T&G walls. There are several upgraded backrest options to put in your custom sauna.Â
Available in all wood types and heat-treated Alder.
Choose between a variety of different doors.Â
Each sauna door swings out. The glass doors feature a single pane, tempered glass with a latch. Wood doors feature a single clear, tempered pane down the center, with ball & catch latch or self-closing hinges.Â
Below are standard sauna door options.
Douglas Fir Wood Frame, clear insulated glass insert. Ball & Catch latch standard, self closing hinges available. Suggested rough opening on wood doors is 2″ taller and 2″ wider than the door.
All Glass, available in clear, bronze and satin (frosted) tint. Suggested rough opening on glass doors is 3.5″ wider and 2″ taller than the door.
Windows are optional in your sauna.
Our standard sauna window comes in a single pane, tempered glass. They’re available in both clear and bronze tint. Â

Sauna lighting is critical for the ambiance of the sauna.Â
There are multiple different options for sauna lighting. The most common is the RGBW Strip Lighting, but it’s not the only option. Â
The RGBW LED strip lighting and the RGBW LED puck lights are compatible with the SaunaLogic 2.0 Control. Change the light color and brightness to suit your liking. The lights can be purchased and set up a la carte too. Â
LED strip lighting comes pre-installed behind your backrest. Can also be placed under bench.Â
Puck Lights go into the ceiling.
Duckboards add a nice touch to the sauna, and are comfortable to walk on.
A duckboard walkway comes standard in our Sisu saunas. A duckboard is nice to walk on and looks good in the sauna, but they’re optional.
An additional duckboard can be purchased for outside of the sauna (entryway, etc). Â
Bench Skirts & Bullnose Bench Trim are popular upgrades for their elegant look. They are optional in your sauna.
Bench skirts are commonplace in a sauna for the look and feel they offer. Â
