Upgrading the look of your Sauna is most easily accomplished by upgrading the sauna door itself. Something as simple as going from a wooden sauna door with a small glass window to a full glass Sauna Door will significantly upgrade the overall look and feel of your Sauna room, like a new coat of paint on an old wall.
Saunas are typically built of tongue and groove material, both inside and out. The wood inside your sauna should not be stained, or painted in any way. While the wood on the exterior of the sauna can be painted, often times it is left in it’s natural appearance. This leaves an excellent opportunity to make the door of your sauna the feature of your room. Similar to the front door of your home, where you are stepping into another world, the sauna door should be both functional and aesthetically pleasing, a complement of your design style.

This custom cut sauna room features an all glass door that welcomes Sauna go-ers into the escape. An all glass sauna door vs a wood sauna door is a common debate between sauna builders and there are many reasons why a glass door is actually better, one of the first being cost. Glass doors are actually cheaper than wood sauna doors, believe it or not. This sauna was a mobile sauna, built from one of our DIY sauna kits.
